How to Become a Supervisor

In accordance with Government Regulation No. 274/2016 Coll., Part Two, Title II, Chapter H, Section II, Paragraph 2 and Rector's Directive No. 13/2019, Article 14, Paragraph 3, only associate professors, professors and possibly other experts with a scientific degree and creative activity, which corresponds to the content focus of the dissertation, approved by the Research Board (RB) of the faculty. The subject area board (SAB) therefore proposes supervisors for individual students, taking into account their professional orientation and needs. The internal regulations of the faculty setting out the rules for the possible performance of the supervisor's activities apply exclusively to the employees of the relevant participating faculty and cannot be applied to supervisors from another participating faculty. The appointment of supervisors at the Second Faculty of Medicine of Charles University is regulated in the Dean's Provision No. 1/2023, Article IV.
