The newly established Centre for Oncology Research and Diagnostics of the Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, and the Faculty Hospital for Children (CORD) aims to bring about a fundamental shift in cancer treatment in the Czech Republic through research. Its head is Prof. Tomáš Kalina.
From 10 to 21 August, the Second Faculty of Medicine hosted the second edition of the Prague Summer School of Anatomical Sonography, a flagship project of the Academy of Anatomical Sonography, which operates under the auspices of the Department of Anatomy. Written by Erik Liu.
Researchers from the CLIP Laboratory Centre at the Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, Motol University Hospital and the National Institute for Cancer Research are seeking new ways to predict the course of childhood leukaemia more accurately and to tailor treatment to individual patients so that it is as effective as possible whilst minimising the burden on the patient.
