Entrance Exam Waiver Criteria
When applying for the master's study programme in General Medicine, you may qualify for an entrance exam waiver if you meet one of the conditions below.
- Entrance exam waivers are awarded competitively and are limited in number. A maximum of 25 waivers may be awarded for applicants in the A-levels/AP/Abitur group and 25 waivers for applicants in the IB/EB/BS group. Where applicants achieve the same result, they will receive the same decision.
A-levels test
Physics or Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology: Rating at least: A, A, A.
The test must not have been taken before the 2023/2024 academic year.
International Baccalaureate (IB)
Minimum achieved or predicted grades of 35 points overall (including from EE/TOK) with a total of 19 points from HL Biology and HL Chemistry and one of HL/SL Maths (AA or AI) or HL/SL Physics.
The test must not have been taken before the academic year 2023/2024.
European Baccalaureate
9.00 and above in Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics or Physics and an overall average mark of 90.00 and above.
The test must not have been taken before the academic year 2023/2024.
Advanced Placement (AP)
Exam (or) Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) AP: Biology and Chemistry and either Mathematics or Physics; Overall: at least 85th percentile. MCAT: Test score at or above 512 points.
The AP and MCAT tests must not have been taken before the academic year 2023/2024.
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Medical Related Field
Coursework including Physics or Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology. Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher among core requirements. The applicant must not have graduated from college before the academic year 2023/2024.
Abitur and Secondary School Grades (Selected Countries)
Applicants may also qualify for an entrance exam waiver based on outstanding secondary school grades, including the German Abitur and equivalent qualifications from selected countries.
- Germany and Austria equal or less than 1.30
- Switzerland equal or more than 5.50
- Norway, equal or more than 5 Norwegian Grade points in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics
- Finland at least 9 points in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics
- Sweden minimum B grade in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics
- Canada: grade 90% and above in Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics or Physics
- USA: grade A college/honors level in Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics or Physics
- Australia: ATAR – overal 98+ with at least 95+ in Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics or Physics
- Iceland: 9.0 and above in Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics or Physics.
The applicant must not have graduated from high school before the academic year 2023/2024.
How to Apply for an Entrance Exam Waiver
- Download and fill in the Exemption from Entrance Examination form
- Upload it together with your latest grades, predicted grades ( IB), high school diploma, BS diploma, AP or MCAT results to the online application (the Apply Electronically guide follows)
- Submit the electronic application to the Study Department by 30 April 2026.
- Pay the application fee of 2500 CZK by 30 April 2026.
- The applicant will be notified by the end of May 2026 whether the entrance examination has been waived. If the examination is waived, the applicant will be conditionally accepted into the programme, pending submission of final grades that meet the conditions outlined above. If the examination is not waived, the applicant will be invited to attend the entrance examination either in Prague on 27 May or 15 July, or through one of our partner agencies abroad.
