The entrance examination takes place on specific dates, either at the Second Faculty of Medicine in Prague or at selected locations abroad. Details are provided during the application process.
The entrance examination consists of two parts: a written multiple-choice test and an interview.
First part: Multiple-choice test
Applicants take a written multiple-choice test in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Logic, corresponding to standard secondary school curricula.
The written test consists of a total of 75 questions:
- 20 questions in Biology
- 20 questions in Chemistry
- 20 questions in Physics
- 15 questions in Logic
Applicants have 90 minutes to complete the test.
Each question in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics is presented with multiple possible answers. Full points are awarded only if all correct options are selected and all incorrect options remain unmarked. In the Logic section, each question has only one correct answer.
Each question is worth up to three points. No points are awarded if there is any discrepancy between the selected answers and the correct solution.
The total number of points that can be acquired for the written test is 225. Completed written tests are evaluated anonymously to ensure fairness.
Second part: Interview
Applicants with the best results in the written test, according to the dean’s decision, are subsequently invited to the interview. Not all applicants proceed to this stage.
Examination committees consist of three faculty members.
During the interview, applicants are expected to demonstrate their interest in the field of study, their ability to discuss medicine-related topics, and their capacity to formulate and defend their opinions. Applicants draw two discussion topics at random. A maximum of 90 points can be obtained in this part of the examination.
