Financial support from the faculty allocation of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MEYS) Internationalisation Fund may be used to support the international mobility of students of the Second Faculty of Medicine. The funding is intended for study visits, placements, and international scientific, research, or other activities carried out within approved projects and programmes of the Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, or Charles University. One of the main objectives of the fund is to promote student mobility and support participation in international study and professional activities.

The Internationalisation Fund of the Second Faculty of Medicine is primarily intended for:
- short-term scientific or research stays abroad;
- participation in international study-related or professional events abroad;
- international placements organised through IFMSA;
- study periods or placements at foreign universities that have concluded a bilateral agreement with the Second Faculty of Medicine or Charles University.

The fund is financed through resources allocated by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic (MEYS). Please note that financial support from the Internationalisation Fund cannot be used concurrently with another scholarship or financial contribution that is also funded by MEYS for the same activity. This excludes, for example, the possibility of using the fund to cover additional costs associated with Erasmus+ programmes.

Financial support may be granted to full-time students as well as to academic staff.

From the 2024/2025 academic year, the new Dean’s Directive No. 12/2024 comes into effect, replacing Dean’s Directive No. 10/2019. These regulations govern the provision of financial support. Applicants are strongly advised to read them carefully.

Funding may be provided to cover:
- travel expenses;
- accommodation and subsistence costs;
- health insurance expenses;
- other costs directly related to the stay abroad.

The final deadline for submitting applications is 1 June. Applications may be submitted for planned, ongoing, or already completed international stays taking place within the relevant calendar year.

Financial support may be granted on the basis of a complete application submitted by the specified deadline, together with a letter of acceptance.

Submitted applications are evaluated by the Principal Investigator’s Committee, which makes decisions regarding the allocation of funding.

Priorities of the Internationalisation Fund of the Second Faculty of Medicine:
- priority is given to students who have not previously participated in an international mobility programme supported by the Faculty or the University;
- study periods or placements at foreign universities based on faculty or university cooperation agreements;
- student placements at foreign institutions, including IFMSA placements;
- active participation in an international professional congress (undergraduate students).

Recipients of financial support are responsible for ensuring that the funding is used properly and efficiently. They are required to submit a final report and confirmation of the completed placement no later than one month after the end of the activity concerned. In addition, students must register their placement in SIS before departure.
