Since the academic year 1992/1993, Charles University in Prague, 2nd Faculty of Medicine has opened a study programme for international students who pay tuition fees. The instruction is provided in English.
The total amount of payment is, for currently admitted students, 290.000 CZK per one academic year; textbooks, accommodation and meals require additional payments. This amount is due by the end of November.
The admission procedure consists of two stages, and all candidates shall take both of them. During the first stage the candidates shall take written tests in biology, chemistry and physics. The second stage consists of an interview.
The candidates are admitted to the Faculty only if they have passed the entrance health examination precluding the compulsory immunisation against Hepatitis B.
The study programme for international students is identical with the study programme of Czech students. The education is provided in English. International students shall pass the examination in the Czech language so that they can communicate with patients in Czech. Basic language skills are required for this purpose.
