Procedure for Determining Prerequisites and Co-requisites of Study Courses

 

Art. I
Introductory Provisions

 

 

This Measure lays down the rules for determination of prerequisites and co-requisites of study courses in all types of study programmes, with the exception of doctoral study programmes.

 

Art. II
Definition of Basic Terms

 

1)  Prerequisites express vertical inter-subject relationships between two or more sections of study. A “prerequisite” represents a course or courses of study without the prior completion of which the follow-up course of study cannot be enrolled.

2)  Co-requisites express horizontal inter-subject relationships in a certain section of study. It is a course or courses that must be enrolled in the same section of study as the relevant course of study.

 

 

Art. III
Procedure for Determination of Prerequisites and Co-requisites of Compulsory Study Courses

 

1) Prerequisites and co-requisites are proposed by the guarantor of the study programme, who submits them to the relevant Vice-Dean for Studies for approval.    

2) After the approval of the prerequisites and co-requisites by the relevant Vice-Dean for Studies, the Study Department enters the prerequisites for individual compulsory study courses in the Study Information System and publishes the prerequisites and co-requisites on the Faculty's website, in the “Study” section.

3) Prerequisites and co-requisites for compulsory courses of study may be established, modified and supplemented by the end of August at the latest, with effect for the following academic year.  

 

 

Art.  IV
Procedure for Determination of Prerequisites and Co-requisites of Recommended Optional Study Courses

 

1)   Prerequisites and co-requisites of a recommended optional study course are submitted by the teacher responsible for the particular study course for approval to the relevant Vice-Dean for Studies.    

2)  After the approval of the prerequisites and co-requisites of a recommended optional study course by the relevant Vice-Dean for Studies, the Study Department enters the prerequisites for individual recommended optional study courses in the Study Information System.

3)  Prerequisites and co-requisites for recommended optional courses of study may be established, modified and supplemented by the end of August at the latest, with effect for the following academic year.  

 

 

Art. V
Final Provisions

 

This Measure becomes valid and effective on the day of its signature by the Dean.
