White Coat Ceremony 2018

The White Coat Ceremony is the culmination of Freshers' Week – which, for our first-year foreign students, helps ease the transition to studying abroad. This year it took place on 27 September.

After surviving the first few days at the Faculty, Czech lessons, tours of the key student spots (libraries, faculty departments, etc.), and teambuilding activities, the acceptance of their first white coat is a significant moment. The event takes place in the beautiful Professional House (Profesní dům), and the Dean Prof. Komárek, the Chairman of the Academic Senate doc. Hrušák, and the Coordinator for International Students Mgr. Fabingerová are all in attendance. Proud parents of new students are also more than welcome to join. The White Coat Ceremony, while common internationally, is rare in the Czech Republic – we do not know of any other medical faculty that organizes anything similar. It is an enjoyable opportunity for not only our new students, but also their parents, to meet with faculty representatives and to attend the ceremonial banquet. We’re already looking forward to next year!
