Dean Prof. Vladimír Komárek explains why it is not reasonable to suspend on-site learning for state exam students, offers his comments on epidemiological measures at the faculty and election of a new dean.

Students of the Charles University Second Faculty of Medicine and the Third Faculty of Medicine and students of the Czech Technical University won the Hack for Healthcare hackathon in Zurich, Switzerland.

A doctoral student from the Department of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology - CLIP Group won first prize at an international postgraduate conference in Hradec Králové, which took place on 25 and 26 November 2021.

On 4 November, the physician and teacher of the Department of Infectious Diseases and chairman of the Faculty Academic Senate won the President's Award of the Czech Medical Chamber for his contribution to lifelong education of physicians.

The Academic Senate of the Second Faculty of Medicine elected Professor Marek Babjuk as Dean of the Second Faculty of Medicine. The four year term begins on 1 February 2022.

On 15 October 2021, the proposal round for the election of a candidate for the Dean of the Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University ended. The Electoral Committee received two proposals by that date. Congratulations to the nominees!

On 30 September 2021, a physician and researcher from the Pediatric Clinic received the Albert Schweitzer Prize in Medicine, which is awarded annually by the French Embassy.

During July, medical students from foreign universities trained as part of the IFMSA exchange program at the departments of the Second Faculty of Medicine and the Motol University Hospital. At the end of their internship they presented their experiences from various departments in selected case reports.

Tamara Fořtová from the fifth year of General Medicine, together with two other medical students, founded a non-profit organization EMOTER. The organization's main mission is to bring medical care to Uganda. Other volunteers can also participate.
