The LLP – Erasmus Competition 2008/2009

Opening a Study Abroad Competition Within the framework of the LLP-Erasmus programme 2nd Faculty of Medicine

The Dean‘s advisory board of the 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague has opened a competition for studies abroad within the framework of EU LLP-ERASMUS.
Applications for the competition must be handed in writing at the Department of Studies of 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague till 4th March 2008 and you can get there the necessary forms as well or you can get them on the web-sites of the Faculty.
 

The competition will take place on 11th March 2008 at 1.30 p.m. in the competition room of the Dean's office.
 

How to apply for an the LLP-Erasmus grant?
All full-time study and postgraduate students of our Faculty who comply with the qualification criteria determined by the Chancellor’s Office of Charles University could enter the competition.
 
The selective board appointed by the Dean of the Faculty has the final decision upon including a student to the studies.
 
When selecting the applicants, help to international students who come to study at our faculty will be taken into consideration as well.
 
The studies abroad and the integral part of University studies and substitute partially for the studies at the home faculty, i.e. they cannot lead to a prolongation of the studies.
Studies abroad will be implemented in the form of an individual study plan.
Postgraduate students are expected to use this stay for working on their thesis.
 
Postgraduate students are offered 4 contract places (University in Graz, Comenius University in Bratislava and Karolinska Institute, University in Genova) i.e. these places cannot be offered to undergraduate students, and on the contrary it is possible to arrange and finance – when agreed – other study places on one condition and that is confirmation that the student will be admitted to work on a prepared programme during his stay.
It is possible to assign the LLP-Erasmus grant just once during the studies.
 
Language capability must be supported by a corresponding certificate, which can be substituted by an examination at the Department of Languages at our Faculty where you can receive a certificate for English, German and French. English is sufficient also for studies in Lithuania, Poland, Finland, Sweden and Norway but candidates who master the teaching language will be given a priority. Other students have to get through an intensive language course (IPLC) before the start of their studies.

The terms of examinations at the Department of Languages: a) English – 18th February, 2008 at 4 p.m. in the Small Left Hall
b) German – 19th February, 2008 at 3.30 p.m. in the SP1
c) French, Spain – 21st February, 2008 at 4 p.m.

The application must include:

  1. completed application form for the studies abroad here till 4th March 2008
  2. study aim (briefly which subjects will the studies abroad replace)
  3. structured CV
  4. language certificate (see above)
  5. copy of the credit book of currently studied year
