Important information:
- Dissertations can be submitted in the PDF/A format only (1a or 2u version) – the easiest way to create a PDF/A file is to convert the original Word document, a step-by-step manual can be found here. Any attachments should also be converted into PDF/A, but you can also use the following formats: JPEG, WAW, MP3, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, CSV, XML and plain text. If you are uploading more than one attachment, it’s recommended to compress the attachments in a .zip file.
- You can submit your dissertation after all uploaded documents have passed through the checks for PDF/A and plagiarism. If you encounter any difficulties, please contact your study advisor or the SIS helpdesk.
-
You are responsible for the dissertation text and attachments, and if the electronic version matches the printout (if applicable). If you notice any discrepancies after submission between the text of your dissertation and the information in SIS (especially in the title), please contact your study advisor.
How to postpone the publication of a dissertation or attachments
If your dissertation includes information protected by copyright or patent, please exclude these from the body of the text and upload them in a separate attachment. Your supervisor may request postponing publishing your dissertation for up to three years after submitting the thesis.
In the SIS module „Student thesis,“ find the relevant dissertation through the filter and open the detail of the thesis (through the blue edit icon). You can see the option „Requests for non-publication of documents and deadline extensions“ on the green toolbar, through which you can submit the request. You can submit the request on the day of the defence at the latest.
