Achievements and Awards of Students and Employees in 2017

Prof. MUDr. Otto Hrodek, DrSc. (Department of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology, Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and Motol University Hospital), was awarded the Neuron Award for Contribution to World Science; awarded by the Neuron Endowment Fund.

The Prize for Creative Achievement of the Year was awarded to MUDr. Markéta Kubričanová Žaliová, Ph.D. (Department of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology, Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and Motol University Hospital); awarded by the Motol University Hospital.

The Josef Hlávka Prize for Best Students and Graduates was awarded to MUDr. Michaela Kotrová, Ph.D. (Department of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology, Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and Motol University Hospital); awarded by Josef, Marie and Zdeňka Hlávka's Endowment.

The Milada Paulová Prize, awarded to female scientists for lifelong contribution to Czech science and development of the field, was awarded to prof. MUDr. Jiřina Bartůňková, DrSc., MBA (Department of Immunology, Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and Motol University Hospital); awarded by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport.

The Ervín Adam Prize was awarded to MUDr. Petra Laššuthová, Ph.D., and the Vlasta Adamová Prize was awarded to MUDr. Michaela Nováková, Ph.D.; awarded by the Dean of the Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University.

The Vlasta Adamová Prize was awarded to Dr. Michalela Nováková, 16 November 2017.

Awards presented at the Scientific Conference 2017

The Prize for Best Lecture was awarded to Barbora Krausová for her lecture Preagnanolone analogs preferentially inhibit tonically over phasically activated NMDA receptors (instructor prof. MUDr. Ladislav Vyklický, DrSc.).

The Vice-Dean's Prize for Science and Research was awarded to Olga Zimmermannová for her lecture Activating mutation of the GNB1 gene results in resistance to tyrosine kinase inhibitors in TEL-ABL + leukaemia (instructor MUDr. Markéta Žaliová, Ph.D.).

The Prize for Best poster was awarded to Filip Rob for his poster Prevalence and consensus in HPV infections in the at-risk population among heterosexual partners (instructor prof. MUDr. Jana Hercogová, CSc.).

The Prize for Best Lecture of a Pre-Gradual Studies Student was awarded to Prokop Vodička for his lecture Thymomas - expression of wnt/ß-catenin, E-cadherin pathway molecules and their potential importance in oncogenesis and diagnostics (instructor prof. MUDr. Josef Zámečník, Ph.D.).

The Conference Visitor Prize was awarded to Michael Svatoň for his lecture Whole exome sequencing in children with immune cytopenia: the applicability and clinical impact (instructor MUDr. Eva Froňková, Ph.D.).
