The minute of 7th session of AS CU 2nd FM 18th September 2002

 
The session of the academic senate was opened by doc. MUDr. Petr Zoban, Csc., who welcomed all the present members and namely the guests of the meeting – the Faculty´s Dean prof. MUDr. J. Koutecký, DrSC., doc. MUDr. J. Bartůňková, DrSC., doc. MUDr. J. Herzogová, Csc., prof. RNDr. V. Pelouch, CSc. and Ing. E. Kuželová.
Checking of the minutes was without any comments.

• prof. MUDr. Josef Koutecký, DrSc.
  Dean of the Faculty informed the senate about the following items:
   
  1. The entrance procedure of the applicants for the studies at the Faculty for the academic year 2002/2003 was without problems as well as the subsequent appelas filed with the Rector´s Office of Charles University.
  2. The faculty economy is fully in accordance with the budget – the scholarships for students in the new academic year will be probably paid according to the same principles as in the last year.
  3. The faculty issued ‘The Final Report of the Faculty Activities and Economy for 2001’.
  4. The Students department of the Dean´s Office completed the final version of the Study Schedule for the new academic year.
  5. Matriculation ceremony of the 1st year students will take place in the Great Hall of Karolinum on October 15, 2002.
  6. The term of the graduation ceremony for the academic year 2002/2003 was stated for the 9th July 2003.
  7. In the context with celebration of the 50th anniversary of the 2nd Faculty of medicine, the Dean asked students to submit contributions to be published in the booklet dedicated to the 2nd Faculty of Medicine.
      
• prof. RNDr. Václav Pelouch, CSc.
   
  1. It has been prepared an information booklet on the entrance procedure for the applicants for the study at the 2nd Faculty of Medicine for the academic year 2003/2004; the application forms will be accepted by February 28, 2003.
     Study courses:
     Full-time Master degree studies:
     • General Medicine – 6 years of studies, the conferred degree – MUDr. (the condition for this course of studies is the completed secondary education with the GCE).
     • Public Health Care and Management – follow-up (postgraduate) course of studies, the Mgr. Degree (the condition being the completed Bachelor or Master degree studies).
     • Physiotherapy – follow-up course of studies taking 2 years, the Mgr. Degree (the condition is the completed Bachelor course of studies in Physiotherapy).
      
     Full-time Bachelor courses:
     • Optics and Optometry
     • Physiotherapy
     • Nursing
     • Laboratory technician
     • Registered radiological assistant
     
      
  2. The open house day at the 2nd Faculty of medicine was stated for January 18, 2003.

• The term for submitting of the names of proposed candidates is between July 1, 2002 and October 18, 2002. In accordance with the Electoral Statutes and Rule of Procedure of the AS of the 2nd Faculty of Medicine, the proposal for the candidate may be submitted by any member of the Faculty academic community. The proposals should be submitted to the Election Committee through mediation of the Dean´s Office (ballot box). The proposal bill without the stamp of the academic senate of the 2nd Faculty of Medicine becomes invalid.
• The introduction and presentation of the candidates before the academic community of the Faculty will take place on October 31, 2002 in the Great hall (lecture room) of the Faculty, the time will be specified at the next session of the senate in October.
• The election of the candidate for the post of the Dean of the 2nd Faculty of medicine (the 1st and 2nd rounds) will take place at the session of the senate on November 11, 2002. In case that no candidate will be elected in the 1st and 2nd rounds, the senate will decide on the way and term of the 3rd and 4th rounds of the election.
• Distribution of the proposal bills will be done as follows:
  Teachers community – the proposal bills will be sent for the attention of the heads of clinics and departments who have been authorized by the Election Committee to pass them to relevant members of the staff according to the list.
  Students community – the proposal bills will be submitted by the Students dept. Personnel on the occasion of registration for the studies between September 23 and September 27, 2002; the postgraduate students will get the bills by mail.

1. The students chamber of the senate asked the Faculty management about the possibility of registration for the students of the more advanced years of study during summer holidays (the condition being the fulfilled all study duties for the previous year). The students complained, referring to the minutes of the 4th session of the academic senate from April 18, 2001, that in this academic year, the Students Dept. did not offer the students this possibility. The Dean informed the students that in his opinion there is no problem to arrange the registration in the course of summer holidays and further, that he intends to find out at the Students Department about the reason for such an attitude.
2. At the next session of the senate, there will be discussed organizational matters related with the election of new members of the AS for the new term of service for the period of January 2003 – January 2005.
3. Doc. MUDr. Petr Zoban, Csc. informed the members of the senate about the document of the academic senate of the 3rd Faculty of Medicine concerning the petition to support MUDr. Benešová.
