Doc. Věra Vávrová Becomes a Recipient of the Medal for Merit of the First Degree

Doc. MUDr. Věra Vávrová, DrSc. worked at the Department of Paediatrics, Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and at Motol University Hospital in the Cystic Fibrosis Center. She has devoted almost her entire professional career to cystic fibrosis, a serious and incurable but treatable genetic disease. Thanks to her, the diagnostics and treatment of the so-called "salty children" suffering from the disease was launched in Czechoslovakia. The sweat test she introduced brought a reliable diagnosis of the disease.
