Dean´s Provision No. 6/2018
Form, amount and method of payment of scholarship and bursary
 

Art. 1
Introductory Provisions

In accordance with the II. full wording of the Charles University Code of Study and Examination of 27/03/2018, effective from 1/5/2018 (hereinafter referred to as the "CU CSE") and the Scholarship and Bursary Rules at the Second Faculty of Medicine of CU effective from 1/10/2017 (hereinafter referred to as the "SBR "), the Dean of the Second Faculty of Medicine of Charles University (hereinafter referred to as the "Second Faculty of Medicine, CU") clarifies some details regarding student scholarships/bursary at the Second Faculty of Medicine, CU.

Art. 2
The form, amount and payment dates of the scholarship for outstanding academic achievements (to Article 3, paragraph 7 of the CU CSE)

1. The scholarship for outstanding academic achievements is paid out in a one-time transfer to the student's account, the number of which the student has stated in the Study Information System, no later than January 31 of the relevant calendar year. The scholarship for excellent academic results amounts to CZK 11,000.
2. The decisive day for which the student's academic average is determined is October 10 of the relevant calendar year.
3. The decisive grade point average required to obtain a scholarship for excellent academic results in the given group is published no later than 20 October of the relevant calendar year.
4. The scholarship for excellent academic results is awarded no later than 31 December of the relevant calendar year.
    

Art. 3
Doctoral Bursary (to Article 12 para. 2, 3 of the CU CSE)

1. The doctoral bursary is paid monthly by retroactive transfer to the student's account, the number of which the student has stated in the Study Information System, no later than the 20th day of the calendar month. The doctoral bursary is awarded to a student in the full-time form of study in the amount specified in Annex No. 1 of this Provision.
    

Art. 4
Scholarships from specific university research funds (of the CU CSE)

1. Students of a full-time doctoral study programme who participate in specific university research (hereinafter referred to as "SUR") may be awarded a scholarship by the Dean on the proposal of the SUR researcher in the amount specified in the Annex to this Provision.
2. A full-time doctoral study programme student may apply for an increase in the scholarship from specific university research funds in the following cases:
   1. after completing two professional courses and publishing the first work results (including abstracts in peer-reviewed journals) by the amount specified in the Annex to this Provision,
   2. students who are successful researchers of the GA CU project, in the amount specified in the Annex to this Provision.

Based on the student's request, the Dean can award a scholarship with the approval of the SUR researcher to the extent specified in the Annex to this Provision.

3. A 5th year student who participates in the SUR project and who is admitted to the MD., PhD. Programme, may be awarded a scholarship of CZK 10,500 by the Dean with the consent of the SUR researcher.
4. The scholarship is paid every month by bank transfer to the student's account, the number of which the student has stated in the Study Information System, no later than the 20th day of the calendar month.
    

Art. 5
The form and method of applying for a scholarship and bursary

1. The student does not apply for a scholarship for outstanding academic achievements.
2. The student does not apply for a doctoral bursary.
3. The student may apply to the Dean of the faculty in writing for the award of other scholarships or bursary in accordance with the Code of Study and Examination of CU and Scholarship and Bursary Rules, or the Dean may award such a scholarship/bursary even without submitting such an application.
    

Transitional, Common, Appointment and Final Provisions

1. This Provision of the Dean takes effect on 5/14/2018.
2. This Provision cancels DP No. 16/2017.
