The principal investigator of the grant is Dr Adam Klocperk from the Department of Immunology.

Project 22q ANTIC: 22q11.2 deletion syndrome – Assessing patient Needs and Trajectories in Czechia, led by Dr. Adam Klocperk from the Institute of Immunology, has been awarded a prestigious two-year grant from the US Jeffrey Modell Foundation.

The c.h.i.l.d.r.e.n!® Research Program is focused on researching immunological disorders, reducing childhood mortality, and improving diagnosis and treatment in pediatric patients. It supports projects that focus on mitigating the impact of disease and health disparities through education, testing and innovative treatment approaches.

The 22q11 deletion syndrome (DiGeorge syndrome) affects a number of organ systems. The 22q ANTIC project aims to map the prevalence and needs of paediatric patients with this syndrome in the Czech Republic and to establish a pilot centre for comprehensive multidisciplinary care.
