Preview Open Night

Preview Open Night

The Open Day is the main presentation of the Second Faculty of Medicine for applicants, held in January. You will meet the faculty management, listen to lectures by scientists, talk to our students, and even try something out for yourself.

The Preview Open Night (last year it was a day) is a more playful and interactive presentation of the faculty, held at the Plzeňská Campus at the end of September or beginning of October. The emphasis is on workshops, demonstrations, multimedia, tours, and contact with our young researchers and doctors.

Matěj Kučera: Beyond the Textbook

The lecture will focus on the challenges that medical school poses for mental health, from stress and burnout to feelings of isolations. Participants will learn practical strategies for taking care of their mental well-being, strenghtening their resilience, and seeking support in a time of need. The goal is to talk openly about topics that are often overlooked by students and to offer inspiration to find a balance between studying and personal life. Dr Matěj Kučera from the National Institute of Mental Health specialises in the mental health of children and adolescents. In addition to his research activities, he also works as a general practitioner. He has twice won the Secend Faculty of Medicine Teacher of the Year awards.

2. Guided tour of the campus

Those interested in a guided tour of the campus can wait after the introductory lecture (around 17:00) in front of lecture hall A303.  If you are interested in a tour, please subscribe via the registration form.
