1) Opening of the meeting and checking the last meeting minutes

Doc. MUDr. Ondřej Hrušák, Ph.D. opened the meeting and welcomed all present members of the academic senate.

Checking of the minutes was without any comments.

2) Accreditation of doctoral interdisciplinary studies Imaging methods in health service

The Head of the Department of Imaging Methods prof. MUDr. Jiří Neuwirth, CSc. submitted to the senate an application for accreditation of the above mentioned doctoral study including reasons:

It is a joint project of Charles University and Polytechnic Institute in Prague or as the case may be their faculties – 2nd Medical Faculty represented by the Department of Imaging Methods (the Head prof. MUDr. Jiří Neuwirth, CSc.) and Faculty of Electrotechnics represented by Department of Managing, Controlling technique (the Head prof. Ing. Václav Hlaváč, CSc.). The Departmet of Imaging methods 2nd Medical Faculty, Charles University will be the managing workplace. It will be possible to assign the project to the programmes of doctoral study branches which have already been accredited and managed under gestion of prof. MUDr. B. Ošťádal, DrSc.
The aim of the attendance and combined implementation of the studies of Imaging Methods in health service is to solve at the highest possible and attainable scientific level technical and applied projects connected with the analysis of imaging data for the use of both technical development and specific use in medicine and biological branches. Those interested in studies will be chosen through the mediation of competition from graduates of Master study programmes not only in medicine but also in natural science, information science, and in electrotechnical engineering. The basic duty of students will be research. The study subjects mentioned in the project are with regard to the different sciental basis devoted to supplementation of the necessary knowledge in other branches by propaedeutic oriented topics. The share of undergraduate teaching of master and Bachelor programmes at individual workplaces will be part of postgraduate education and pedagogical preparation. Fulfilment of the future doctors at scientific and pedagogical university workplaces should be as regarded without any problems.
Presented formulation of content and names of teaching programmes respond to our current images about the branch connecting progress in diagnostic medicine imaging in different disciplines and rapidly developing technical base and fulfilment of individual modalities based on different physical ground. They will undoubtedly develop, specify and complement with further development. Nowadays we regard the introduced basis principal enabling possible complements. The above mentioned stands also for examples of scientific topics of students works.
Personnel and material conditions for the opening of the teaching programme are ensured. Scientific level as well as practise experience of the pedagogical staff seem to be a sufficient guarantee of the level of education of those interested in this branch and depth of scientific problems which are to solve. The level is also substantiated by informatively mentioned professional and publishing activities of the lecturers. Similarly technical background of the libraries or equipment of the workplaces does not raise fears about impassableness of the planned programme.

Result: The senate expressed its consent by means of voting (14-0-0).
