On 26 April 2019, the Second Faculty of Medicine had the pleasure of hosting the third edition of TEDxCharlesUniversity. TEDx is independently organised events, consisting of a series of short talks that each embrace a specific theme, in their own unique way. We wanted to highlight just a few of the many innovative and creative minds within the Czech community and allow them to express themselves on an international platform.

This edition of TEDxCharlesUniversity was different from the previous editions, in that it was held entirely in English. The theme for the day was Tides of Change, an abstract concept which each speaker was able to interpret and present their own ideas worth spreading.

The event was organised over a period of four months by a team consisting entirely of students from different faculties of Charles University. During this time, the students were able to put their capabilities and organisational skills to the test by working on this passion project alongside their studies, which proved to be an arduous yet highly rewarding experience.

All in all, the event was very well received by all the attendees. They were highly satisfied by the wide array of topics we were able to present and the overall professional atmosphere and setup. The event was a resounding success to the relief of the organising team. We feel incredibly fortunate to have had the pleasure of meeting such incredible speakers from different faculties and universities throughout Prague. Each brought their own unique take on the theme and certainly left each and every one of the 100 attendees with something new to think about and be inspired by. The talks have been uploaded on YouTube.

We would like to express our utmost gratitude to everyone involved in organising TEDxCharlesUniversity, from the team and volunteers, to the faculty members and the sponsors. We would also like to thank Mgr. Petra Fabingerová for her constant assistance and guidance throughout the preparation of the event, and to prof. Vladimír Komárek for his continued support.

This incredible experience would not have been possible without all these contributions.
