Motol Pelicans vs. HC Trimed – again and again! Come support us and get ready for a great show!
In the true Christmas spirit, all proceeds from the match will go to charity – we will support two activities that help people with mental illness.
A collection of sports equipment for the Motol University Hospital's Child Psychiatry Clinic will take place at the match. You can bring volleyballs, basketballs, soccer balls, as well as table tennis and badminton rackets and balls.
All financial proceeds from the match will be donated to the Fokus Praha organization, which supports people with serious mental illness and offers them comprehensive social and health services in their natural environment – the community. You can find more information about the organization at the end of this invitation.
You can look forward to great hockey, performances by our beautiful Pelikanek and Trimed Cheerleaders, a program for fans during the break, and a joint afterparty at the Le Fakap bar.
The game will take place on 16 December 2025 at 7:45 p.m. at ZS Hvězda – bring your friends, your Christmas charity spirit, and, most importantly, get your vocal cords ready.
Fokus Praha – supporting people with mental illness
Mental health is fragile. As long as it works well, we take it for granted. Yet every fifth person experiences a mental crisis at some point in their life, and it needs to be addressed.
People facing serious psychological problems, who fear the onset or worsening of a mental illness, can come to Fokus Praha. Mental difficulties are not only a health issue; they affect many areas of life, disrupt relationships, often cause problems at work, and financial stress tends to build up. This cocktail can, in turn, act as a catalyst for further worsening mental health. Professionals from multidisciplinary teams and from all Fokus services work every day to break this vicious cycle and help clients find their path to recovery.
Volunteers are valuable companions for clients on this journey – selfless acquaintances willing to share part of the burden carried by anyone facing mental illness. For volunteers, the reward is the feeling of genuinely helping another human being, the closeness, and above all, the chance to see life from a completely new perspective and within a different value framework.
To offer our clients support from volunteers, costs are involved. Our volunteers receive support – they are trained, coordinated, and provided with supervision. And although their work is unpaid, we are glad when we can at least partially contribute to joint activities with clients such as exhibition tickets, a visit to a café, and similar experiences.
In today’s world – often so fast, impersonal, and sometimes confusing – we can help each other. We are in this together. Thank you for every kind of support.
