Preliminary Archaeological Research Is Underway at the Site of the Future Construction

Photo gallery and commentary by archaeologist Petra Přemyslovská, head of the research.

Preliminary archaeological research was initiated at the site of the future construction. In the first stage, the area for the construction site was examined. This occupied the space where archaeological research had already been carried out in 1975–1976 during the construction of temporary accommodation (now demolished) (details of this research can be found on the Prague Archaeology website). At that time, an extensive early medieval burial ground was uncovered, which was used from around the end of the 9th century to the middle of the 11th century.

Ze zjišťovacích sond z roku 2022 vyplývá, že v přilehlém okolí se nacházejí další archeologické památky, které budou předmětem dalších etap výzkumu.
