The Second Faculty of Medicine historically continues the legacy of the Faculty of Paediatrics, founded in 1953 as a unique institution dedicated specifically to child healthcare in Czechoslovakia.
Today, the faculty provides a fully comprehensive General Medicine programme. Our graduates pursue successful careers across all medical fields, working as internists, surgeons, researchers, and general practitioners both in the Czech Republic and internationally. At the same time, we maintain our historical strength: the undergraduate curriculum retains an expanded scope of paediatrics, offering students a deeper foundation in child healthcare than is typical at standard medical faculties.
