The Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences together with the research infrastructure Czech-BioImaging would like to invite you to attend the 5-day practical course "Transmission electron microscopy in life sciences".
The course is aimed at beginners and intermediate users of transmission electron microscopes. After the course, participants will understand the principles of construction and function of transmission electron microscopes and will receive extensive practice during hands-on sessions on transmission electron microscopes of varying complexity. The participants are encouraged to bring their own samples on TEM grids for ambient temperature imaging. A brief overview of sample preparation methods, and demonstration of cryo-TEM method is a part of the course, as well. The course will be taught in English.
The course is organized by the Institute of Molecular Genetics CAS in Prague on 24th – 28th November, 2025. Favourable registration fees are set due to the support by the Czech-BioImaging. The course is recognized by a number od PhD study committees as a part of PhD studies.
