Interested in Joining Our Football Community? Join Us and Keep up to Date

The LF2 Football Team was founded in 2013, to fill a void that we felt existed within the LF2 student community. Since then, every Sunday at 18h we play a football game at Strahov Stadium that any student can join. So far we have organized more than 100 games where more than 50 international and Czech students have played, both male and female. Ultimately, it is about creating a relaxed environment where any student can have fun while playing football and also get to know new people.

In 2015, a group of more competitive players decided to create an official team – ‘LF2MED’ and not only compete against students, but the entire Prague! After a rough winter season, we stepped our game up and achieved 1st place in our group in the Summer season of Strahovska Liga. We also won the Summer Interfaculty 5-a-side Tournament on Sport’s day, where the prize was cake! It was delicious ;) Additionally, we participated in the Third Faculty Tournament... unfortunately conceding a goal in the dying seconds preventing us from reaching the finals. Win some, lose some right?

Last May we organized a Barbeque to counter the growing expenses we were faced with (balls, entrance fees, team kit etc.). We were hoping for 50 people since it was our first barbeque. But unexpectedly, it turned out to be a huge success with around 150 people attending! There were sports games, live music, burgers, lemonade and beer! What else do you need? Of course we are doing another one next May so keep your eyes open.

At the moment our competitive team ‘LF2MED’ is full, but the LF2 Football Team is up and running every Sunday. If you are interested in joining our football community there is a facebook group, aptly named ‘LF2 Football Team’ where you can join and keep up to date with all the latest information about time schedules, how to register to play and where to go.  The link is listed below.

We look forward to seeing you smashing in goals!
