Dean's Provision No. 3/2015

Procedures for assessing fees for studying in a foreign language for students enrolled for the first time for study in the academic year 2015/2016.

I.
Basic provision

This Dean's regulation updates the procedures for assessing fees for study in a foreign language at the 2nd Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague (the Faculty, below) in accordance with Appendix 6 of the Statutes of Charles University in Prague, dated 31st January 2014 (Appendix 6, below) in the academic year 2015/2016.

Fees for study in a foreign language

The fees for studying in a foreign language have been updated in Appendix 6, article 12.

III.
Methods of paying fees for students enrolled for the first time for study in the academic year 2015/16

1. Students beginning an English language study program in the Faculty in the academic year 2015/16 will pay their fees in two payments, as follows: 270 000 CZK for the first year of study, to be paid no later than 31st October of the given academic year, and 300 000 CZK to be paid annually for each further year of study (Payment 1, below). An additional 60 000 CZK for the first study year must be paid no later than 31st May of the given academic year, followed by 30 000 CZK for each further year of study (Payment 2, below).
2. A student may submit a written request for exemption from Payment 2 to the dean of the Faculty by no later than 5th October of the given academic year. If the student pays Payment 1 in full by the deadline, i.e. by the date given in Section 3 para. 1 above, the dean of the Faculty will grant the request by no later than 30th November of the given academic year.
3. A student may also submit to the dean of the Faculty, no later than by 5th October of the given academic year, a written request to split Payment 1 into two instalments and to be exempted from Payment 2, on condition that the deadline for paying the first instalment of a minimum of 50% of Payment 1 will be set in the request at no later than 31st October of the given academic year, and that the deadline for paying the balance of Payment 1 will be set no later than 30th April of the given academic year. The dean will grant the request to split Payment 1 into two instalments by no later than 25th October of the given academic year. If the student is permitted to split Payment 1 and then pays both instalments on time, the dean will grant the request for exemption from Payment 2 by no later than 20th May of the given academic year.
    

IV.
Final provision

1. For students enrolled for the first time for study in the Faculty in an English language study program before the academic year 2015/16, the level of fees for study in a foreign language is determined by the Agreement for provision of study between the Faculty and the student and the Dean's regulation no. 3/2014.
2. This Dean's regulation is effective from 20th March 2015.
