Prague Symposium on Cancer Metabolism

The event takes place on 29 May at the Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. Five Second Faculty students who send a motivation letter can participate free of charge.

We would like to invite you to the Prague Symposium on Cancer Metabolism, which will take place on 29 May in Prague, Czech Republic.

We aim to gather scientists from the research field of cellular and cancer metabolism. We believe that this unique event will be appreciated by the research community, will create opportunities for students and others to embrace the new topic and will set up a suitable environment for networking and establishing new collaborations. You can expect invited speakers from the field of cancer metabolism from the Czech Republic and abroad. We encourage all participants to submit abstracts.

First discovery in the area of cancer metabolism goes back to Otto Warburg, who almost a century ago described the differences in metabolic pathways of normal and cancer cells. However, researchers and oncologists ignored his findings and only few years ago, deregulated bioenergetics has been included into the list of the main hallmarks of cancer cells. This meeting is an occasion to learn more about recent findings and meet the experts in the field from Czech Republic and abroad.

Students interested in science have a chance to attend this meeting. Five students from the Second Faculty of Medicine who send their motivation letter can participate free of charge.
